and we booked the Dry Tortugas ferry during a week when the wind was making me a little nervous, so I wasn’t totally sure what to expect.
They were really good about keeping us in the loop with emails, and the phone message was clear too. I never felt like we had to guess whether the trip was still happening. Since the weather in the Keys can change so quickly, it made everything a lot less stressful.

The beach itself was really nice, but it was crowded and way windier than I expected. The whole trip felt a bit rushed too, so it was hard to really relax and enjoy it. i was expecting at least some kind of apology or acknowledgment about how rushed everything felt.

The ferry ride itself was just okay. The seats were fine at first, but they got uncomfortable after a while. What really bothered me was having to go through verification more than once, it felt unnecessary and got annoying fast. Overall, not terrible, but not exactly a relaxing experience either.

Looking back, the timing of this trip felt spot on for us. I remember thinking it wasn’t too rushed, which made a big difference. We had enough time to wander around, take a quick swim, and still enjoy exploring the fort without feeling like we were being hurried along. It was definitely a long day, but in my memory it was one of those long days that felt totally worth it...

The trip itself was nice, but the snorkel gear wasn’t great. The mask kept leaking a bit and the fins weren’t the most comfortable. It did the job, I guess, but I was expecting better quality for the price. Anyway.

I get motion sick so easily, it’s annoying, so I was already stressing about the ride out to Dry Tortugas before we even booked it. I emailed ahead because I didn’t want to be miserable the whole way, and thankfully they gave me some straightforward tips about where to sit and when to take meds.

We even saw a nurse shark from the beach, which was wild in the best way. The whole trip was easy, no stress, and definitely felt worth it. I’d go back just for the wildlife, honestly.

The check-in process was a bit slow, but it was fine. I’m not saying it ruined anything or that the staff did anything wrong, it just took longer than I expected.

I had a really nice time on the Fort Jefferson tour. Everything was smooth, interesting, and easy to enjoy, and I don’t have any complaints. By the end, I felt really glad I went, it was one of those experiences that just leaves you feeling happy and grateful.
